New SOIMA website: audiovisual preservation
3 June. The SOIMA (Sound and Image Collections Conservation) programme has introduced a website aimed at highlighting the issues and challenges that some cultural and research institutions face in preserving their sound and image materials.

OBITUARIES
Michel Parent
18 May. Michel Parent, President of ICOMOS from 1981 to 1987, has died at the age of 93. The Director General and all the staff of ICCROM would like to present their most sincere condolences to his family and to his colleagues at ICOMOS.

Claude Volfovsky
14 May. It is with great sorrow that ICCROM has learnt that Claude Volfovsky, a long-time collaborator and friend of ICCROM, has passed away in France on 12 May 2009, aged 67.
